When COVID-19 hit during my 11th grade, schools in Germany were closed to visitors. This created a major problem: parents could no longer hand in the paper-based registrations for incoming 5th grade students.
Together with a friend, I built a digital registration system to solve this issue. We taught ourselves programming, launched the solution at our school, and even created a small company with the idea of distributing the system more widely. While we soon moved on to bigger challenges, the project gained attention and was featured in both the print and digital editions of the Wester Kurier.
